Developmental Track

1. Bible Interpretation I

This is a study of the art and science of the interpretation of Scripture. This course focuses on the historical-grammatical method of interpretation. With complete reliance upon the Holy Spirit, students are taught to give attention to rules of grammar, context, ancient culture, literary genre, dispensational distinctions and a host of other biblical and textual matters that facilitate accurate biblical interpretations. Module one addresses Bible Interpretation, Bible Culture, Bible Grammar, Literary Types and other hermeneutical matters.

 

2. Bible Interpretation II

This is a study of the art and science of the interpretation of Scripture. This course focuses on the historical-grammatical method of interpretation. With complete reliance upon the Holy Spirit, students are taught to give attention to rules of grammar, context, ancient culture, literary genre, dispensational distinctions and a host of other biblical and textual matters that facilitate accurate biblical interpretations. Module two addresses the interpretation of Figures of Speech, Bible Types, Parables and Allegories, Bible Prophecy, the Use of the Old Testament in the New Testament, the Proper Application of Scripture and other hermeneutical matters.

  

3. Old Testament Survey

This is a study of the contents of each book of the Old Testament, giving attention to the background, purpose, theme, outline and overview of each. Each of the 39 books are examined and as they are, students learn about the Characters, Dispensations, Covenants, Kingdoms and other old covenant matters.

 

4. New Testament Survey

This is a study of the contents of each book of the New Testament, giving attention to the background, purpose, theme, outline and overview of each. Each of the 27 books are examined and as they are, students learn about the Characters, Dispensations, Doctrines, End Time events and a host of other new covenant matters.

 

5. Theology I

This is a study of Bible doctrine dealing with five of the ten major areas of belief that distinguish Christianity from all other religions. It covers Bibliology (The Study of the Bible), Theology Proper (The Study of God the Father), Christology (The Study of Jesus Christ), Pneumatology (The Study of the Holy Spirit), and Angelology (The Study of the Angels and Demons).

 

6. Theology II

This is a study of Bible doctrine dealing with five of the ten major areas of belief that distinguish Christianity from all other religions. It covers Anthropology (The Study of Mankind), Hamartiology (The Study of Sin), Soteriology (The Study of Salvation), Ecclesiology (The Study of the Church), and Eschatology (The Study of the End Times).

 

7. Sermon Development

This is a study of the art and science of preparing sermons that are expositional in nature. Exegesis, exposition and the principles of sermon development are taught from the choosing of a preaching text to the completion of the task. Some attention is also given to effective sermon delivery and public speaking.

   This class must be taken before a student can enroll in Sermon Delivery/Public Speaking.

 

8. Sermon Delivery/Public Speaking

This is a study of the art and science of presenting sermons that are expositional in nature. Principles of public speaking dealing with the voice, articulation, body language, the use of object lessons and other issues are addressed. Giving captivating introductions, rich and relevant exposition and compelling conclusions are taught. Students present sermons before the class and receive both public and private evaluations from the instructor.

 

9. Teaching Practices and Principles

This is a study of the general methodology of instruction within the classroom. Attention is given to determining lesson aims and objectives, lesson organization, lesson preparation, study habits, and means of measuring the results of instruction. The course is designed to equip teachers in the preparation and presentation of lesson materials. Emphasis is given regarding instructing both children and adults. The Bible is exalted as the primary text in all instructional settings, as it integrates with other curriculum.

 

10 . Biblical Leadership I

This is a study of the foundational principles that distinguish the church leader from the secular. This series covers the leader's role, leadership preparation, determining a vision, the leader's character and conduct, the goals of the leader and other issues immediate to church leadership as it is defined by Scripture.

 

11. Biblical Leadership II

This series takes leaders to the next level by addressing leadership challenges, procuring and protecting the leader's influence, decision making, maintaining an effective schedule, pitfalls to be aware of, the rewards of biblical leadership and other issues consistent the Word of God and the wisdom of God.




Additional Studies

1. Pentateuch

This is a study of the first five books of the Bible; investigating their major themes, major events and primary characters. Attention is given to the formation of the nation of Israel and the communicating of God’s revelation through their history and culture.

 

2. O. T. Historical Books

This is a study of the 12 books (Joshua-Esther) that detail the history of the Hebrew people from their entrance into the Promised Land under Joshua’s leadership to their rebuilding programs during the ministries of Ezra and Nehemiah.

 

3. Poetical Books

This is a study of the five books (Job-Song of Solomon) that comprise Hebrew Poetry. Attention is given to the themes and major teachings of each.

 

4. Major Prophets

This is a study of the five prophets who wrote the longest of the prophetical books (Isaiah-Daniel). Each book is integrated into its proper place in Old Testament history as their major themes and teachings are examined and properly applied.

 

5. Minor Prophets

The backgrounds, themes and historical placement these 12 books (Hosea-Malachi) are examined and their relationships to future prophecy are correlated.

 

6. Life of Christ

This is a chronological study of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ as prophesied in the Old Testament and as presented and described by the four Gospels (Matthew-John).

 

7. Acts and Romans

This is a study of the Book of Acts that identifies the beginning of the New Testament Church and follows her history for her first 30 years of existence. This study continues with the examination of the book of Romans to see how the Apostle Paul presented the foundational doctrines of the church (sin, righteousness, grace, law, justification, sanctification, glorification) and how they are to be applied to the ministry of the church to the world at large.

 

8. Pastoral Epistles

This study gives attention to I and II Timothy and Titus, as each book is examined for its doctrines and its teachings that instructs in regards to the leadership and administration of the church and of her leaders.

 

9. Daniel

This is a study of the book of Daniel from the pre-millennial position, giving attention to its historical and prophetic context and its relationship to the Book of Revelation and end-time events.

 

10. Revelation

This is a study of end-time events and future prophesies from the pre-millennial viewpoint. The book is analyzed from its theme, signs, symbols and its teachings and relevance to the present day.

 

11. The Duties of the Minister

The is a study of the call, qualifications and duties of the minister with special attention being given to the responsibilities of preaching, teaching, evangelism, counseling, ordinances and ceremonies.
